Reforms in the LG&RDD & fair use of funds is the top priority
Reforms in the Local Government and Rural Development and the fair use of funds are top priorities on the government’s agenda. Director General of Local Government and Rural Development, Azad Kashmir, Raja Zahid Mahmood Khan, Chaired the review meeting at Mirpur Division. The meeting was attended by the Divisional Director of Mirpur, the Superintending Engineer of Mirpur, Deputy Directors of the districts of Kotli, Mirpur, and Bhimber, Executive Engineers, and Project Managers. The Director General instructed that progress reports on ongoing projects and completion reports for completed projects be submitted within a week and that monitoring and timely completion of all projects be ensured.
The Director General emphasized that there should be no compromise on the quality of work according to the government’s policy, the Prime Minister’s vision, and legal standards. Projects should be identified based on public needs, and project committees should be formed in consultation with the community according to legal procedures. Responsible individuals from the area should be included in the committees to ensure that projects are completed on time and according to specifications. Employees must ensure attendance in offices, and the biometric system will be fully activated in all districts and divisions.
The Director General emphasized that for the current fiscal year, development projects should be finalized based on public needs and in consultation with the community. The formation of committees for the management of water filtration plants was also discussed, ensuring timely filter replacements to provide clean and quality water to the public.
