Director General LG&RDD Visited Division Poonch

Director General of Local Government and Rural Development Azad Kashmir, Raja Zahid Mahmood Khan, visited the Divisional Director Local Government’s office in Poonch Division. The Deputy Director Monitoring from the Directorate General accompanied him. The meeting was attended by the Divisional Director Poonch, the Superintending Engineer of Poonch, Deputy Directors of the districts Bagh, Rawalakot, Sudhnoti, and Haveli Kahuta, Executive Engineers, and Project Managers. The Director General instructed that progress reports on ongoing projects and project completion reports for completed projects be submitted within a week. He also issued orders to ensure monitoring and timely completion of all projects.

Instructions were issued for immediate activation of the biometric system as per the Prime Minister’s directives, along with disciplinary action against absentee employees. The Director General emphasized that there should be no compromise on the quality of work, following the government’s policy, the Prime Minister’s vision, and legal standards. He instructed that projects be identified based on public needs, and employees must ensure attendance in offices. The biometric system will be fully activated across all districts and divisions.

The Director General instructed that viable development projects for the current fiscal year be identified, keeping in mind public needs, and community participation must be ensured. Committees for the management of water filtration plants were also considered, so that filters can be timely replaced to provide clean and safe water to the public. He concluded by reiterating that, in accordance with the Prime Minister’s orders, if funds for any projects are not visible on the ground, strict action will be taken against the Deputy Director, Executive Engineer, Assistant Engineer, and other concerned staff. Payments will be scrutinized to ensure they are based on work done, and decisions must be made with public needs in mind.
